“Busting Out of Egypt”

The Parting of the Sea for Moses and the Israelites. Egypt is behind them, with its bricks, frogs, and taskmasters. Immediately after the Israelites pass through, the Pharaoh and his army are being thrown into the sea. The Israelites pass through the columns of water, “dry shod.” In the foreground is Moses with his staff. The disoriented fish at the surface of the water are swimming vertically. Note that the 10 commandments are prepared and waiting on one of the mountains at the foot of the left column of water. Ahead of the people is the wilderness, and eventually, the land of (sheep’s) milk and honey.
